About Us

July 2006

Meet the dudes behind the scenes of the Inland Northwest recyling newsletter: Delete This Newsletter. Jim Schrock, owner of Earthworks Recycling, is the original brain for this newsletter. He started sending the newsletter in paper format 18 years ago under the name “Recycle This Newsletter.” Jim is responsible for sorting through the hundreds (or thousands) of e-mails he gets each month to find recycling related stories to publish in our electronic newsletter.

Brian Schumacher, an 18 year old student attending Western Washington University beginning fall of 2006 joined the newsletter operation about 3 years ago. He’s responsible for compiling the news items into a readable format and sending out the e-mails each week. He also is responsible for publishing the Recycling Picture of the Week on the DTN website and managing the database of subscribers.

However, we’re nothing without our readers. Most of the stories we publish in each issue have been submitted by our readers. This way, we tend to get more unique and obscure stories that our readers haven’t already read a gazillion times before. We also rely on our readers to submit the Recycling Pictures of the Week. So really, while Jim and Brian put the newsletter together and mail it out, its our Inland Northwest recyclers, businesses and other industry related professionals that make this newsletter happen each week!

If you’d like to submit a story or a picture of the week, mail them to Jim@EarthworksRecycling.com We hope you enjoy!
